1. 298,000 women and 2,800 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023.

2. More than 43,000 women and 530 men will die of the disease in 2023.

3. Breast cancer is the most common type of non-skin cancer in women in the U.S. accounting for 15% of all new cases.

4. It is second only to lung cancer as a cause of cancer death in American women.

5. Being female & older in age are the main risk factors for breast cancer.

6. Hereditary breast cancer makes up 5 to 10% of all breast cancer diagnoses.

7. Early detection & effective treatment are key to reducing breast cancer deaths.

8. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.  That is one person every 2 minutes in the U.S.

Steps to Take to Reduce Your Breast Cancer Risk:

1. Maintain a healthy weight.

2. Eat less meat.

3. Eat more fruit, vegetables & whole grains.

4. Limit alcohol.

5. Quit smoking.

6. Get moving.

7. Breastfeed if you are able.

8. Evaluate hormone use.

9. Know family history.

10. If at high rick - consider other options.
